Hi, I'm Paul Parks and I am a Director and Founder of Retreat to Advance Limited.

Why the name ‘Retreat to Advance’?
Often, we need to go back over past traumas, issues and difficulties in order to then go forward and thrive.
I am a qualified Level 6 Psychotraumatologist, Psychotherapist and Counsellor and Member of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists.
​
I am a survivor; a survivor of C-PTSD (due to Adverse Childhood Experiences) and PTSD (from my military career).
When I reached my darkest point, had I not asked for help and been able to access specialist trauma therapy, then I most certainly would not be where I am today. I received my therapy from one of the UK’s top trauma therapists, and it was she who encouraged me to study to become a qualified psychotherapist and psychotraumatologist, and use my experiences to help others.

As a member of a professional body, I am bound by a code of ethics, DBS checked, have full insurance and am accountable to a professional supervisor.
​
I have documented my life story and journey to recovery, and the challenges I experienced in my autobiography
'Hide Little Boy' which was published in 2020.
